Acupuncture

Nina is a practitioner of Traditional Acupuncture, an ancient system of medicine which has evolved over thousands of years. Acupuncture is considered to be beneficial in managing a range of illnesses and symptoms, with research-based evidence increasingly proving its worth. Acupuncture is used to manage a range of situations from clearly defined complaints to more general feelings of ill health and low energy. It is often reported that Acupuncture can lead to an enhanced sense of wellbeing and calm and greater resilience to the stressful situations that can arise in life. Some people attend treatment for this reason alone. Many incorporate Acupuncture into their lives as part of their own personal health ‘maintenance’ regime in order to prevent ill health. Acupuncture, when practised traditionally, is a very individual approach with the treatment process looking at all aspects of a person’s health and wellbeing from which a tailor-made treatment plan is devised.

Nina welcomes enquiries to enable people to learn more about Acupuncture in relation to their particular needs prior to attending for treatment.

Nina's background includes working in the conventional medical field as an NHS Occupational Therapist for many years, gaining experience in a variety of settings. The combination of travelling in South East Asia, working with an inspiring NHS Consultant, together with Nina's long-standing interest in complementary therapies led her to train for three years at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine as a Traditional Acupuncturist qualifying in 1999. She later returned to the college to work as a practical skills tutor. Nina practices an integrated style of Acupuncture incorporating a Five Element constitutional approach and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Zita West Network for Reproductive Health and regularly attends courses as part of her continuous professional development.
